Who Needs A Candle When You Have Mooch!
Elizabeth (credited for bringing the rose frosting to Mooch), ordered some Cinnamon Buns with Cream Cheese Frosting this week! I hadn’t made them in a long time so it was nice to pull out the brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg again! With the buns in the oven, the house filled with the delicious scent of cinnamon. Last year when I lived on campus, my baking would bring all the room mates down to the kitchen because the smell would waft up to their rooms and distract their minds from their studies. The boys last year always requested cream cheese frosting but I always thought they were delicious enough on their own! Elizabeth also asked for cream cheese frosting that wasn’t “too sweet” and I can honestly say that this is the best cream cheese frosting I have ever made and had! It has a slightly tangy flavour with the perfect amount of sweetness. I’ve had the cinnamon buns with frosting from Grounds For Coffee in Kitsilano but found them overpoweringly sweet so my goal was to bake up cinnamon buns that were equally as good (if not better!) and tweak it so it isn’t as calorie or sugar loaded!
