Every cake we make is handcrafted; all of our designs are created by hand and are subject to the artistic interpretation of our Pastry Chef. You may provide us with a photograph for inspiration; however, as we respect other artists, we make no claims for duplication of the work done by other cake decorators. All our products are one of a kind and designs may vary as no two products are crafted the same.
Deposits & Payments
Orders within 90 days require full payments at the time of ordering. To reserve your date, a $75 non-refundable deposit is due at the time of booking. Since we focus on creating bespoke custom made to order cakes, we only take a select number of bookings to ensure each cake is given the attention to detail it deserves. Booking your order means that we are often turning down other work. The deposit can be applied to orders over $200. To secure your pricing, a $150 non-refundable deposit is required and will go towards your final balance. All quotes are valid for 14 days and pricing may vary upon services rendered. The total of both deposits combined is $225.
All final payments are due TWENTY DAYS prior to your event date. If payments are not received by the agreed upon and specified due date, your order may be canceled. Cakes will not be commissioned without full payment. We will send you an email before canceling any orders as we know that sometimes life can be a little crazy! Payments can be made via etransfer to firstname.lastname@example.org. Credit cards are also accepted, processing fees apply.
We accept rescheduling and cancellation requests by email only. If the event is rescheduled, your deposit can be transferred to the new date (within 1 rolling year). This transfer is dependent upon our availability and we will do everything we can to be part of your wonderful day. Due to being a small shop, we do fill up quickly and only take a limited number of orders to ensure we put our best work forward. If we are not available on your new date, the deposits can be used as a credit towards a future order within 6 months. After 6 months all deposits are forfeited.
In case of cancellation by the Client, the deposits will not be refunded. Cancellations with less than two months notice are subject to a charge: Mooch will charge 50% of the price of the cake to cover costs incurred to initiate your order, as we will have already ordered supplies and will not be able to fill your spot with a new order. If payments have been paid in full for an item, under certain circumstances we may offer store credit. In lieu of canceling your cake, you’re welcome to have it as scheduled and enjoy it all to yourself.
Delivery & Set Up of Cake (Cake Stands/Cake Toppers)
Mooch will deliver and set up the wedding cake at the Event Location on the Event Date at the agreed-upon time frame. If the cake table is not ready at the time of delivery, the cake will be stored at the venue and moved by the venue staff. Cupcakes are delivered boxed, a set-up fee is required to have Mooch place the cupcakes on a table or cake stand. If the cake requires a cake stand or any additional toppers, these items will be provided by the Client at the venue. Please inform us if you will be having a cake topper in case adjustments in the design are needed. If we feel that the cake stand is unstable, the cake will be placed on the table and can be moved by the Client onto the stand. Any specific delivery instructions or loading restrictions should be communicated beforehand.
Liability & Pick Ups
Mooch shall not be held responsible for any damages, losses, or injuries caused by or to the cake after setup at the Event Location. The Client assumes all responsibility for the cake once it is delivered. In scenarios where the cake is picked up by the Client, Mooch is not responsible for any damages during transportation. If you are UNABLE to make it at your selected time, please call/text 778-668-7393 and we might be able to store your cake in the fridge and move your pick up time later. Once the cake leaves our facility, we are not responsible for any damage occurring to the cake during transport, set-up or any time thereafter- so please transport your cake with care. Please prepare your vehicle so it is clean and free of items that could roll or slide into the cake. We do everything in our power to provide a structurally sound cake, however please note that cakes are very fragile and can become damaged without care, drive carefully and slowly. Delivery is always available to take some of the stress off of transporting cakes.
Allergies and Dietary Restrictions
Mooch will make every effort to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions of the Client or their guests if provided with adequate notice. However, Mooch cannot guarantee that the cake will be entirely allergen-free.
We do not provide refunds for disliking an item; taste, colour, and texture are all subjective, and not cause for refund. It is entirely up to our discretion, to change or otherwise offer any other options to the customer.
